Since starting Maxi's Mates with Jane, we've seen lot's of dog's come and go. Some you get attached to. This is how i ended up with Ruby....

Barney my Dogue De Bordeaux had passed away at the end of October. The house seemed so empty without the big lump sprawling around. So a month later the hubby and I decided to order a pup that had just been born, something to look forward to.

Then on the 14th of december Igot a message from one of our walker's telling me a DDB bitch had been brought in. I couldnt believe someone could lose such a beautiful dog or worse still chuck one out!

I told the hubby who told me to not even think about it. Firstly we had never owned and didnt want a bitch and secondly we'd already ordered the pup and with an old Labrador we couldnt possibly have 3!

So I went to the kennel's the next day as it was my day to walk. Ryan my son came with me. As i walked in to the kennel's i could see her hunched up as close to the kennel gate as possible, my heart melted, she looked so unhappy and bewildered none of the dog's deserve to be in there, but this girl definitely didnt!!

Ryan got her out and brought her outside, she was in such a sorry state and stunk to high heaven! That was it! I was in love! A quick phone call to the hubby and that was it, i was bringing this girl home. She walked straight in the house, sniffed my Labrador, sniffed the hubby and plonked herself down next to him as if she'd alway's been there. We decided to call her Ruby.....

4 month's on she's settled in really well, she love's her walk's at the beach and in the wood's, she love's our new pup Oliver too, she think's she's him mum. But most of all she love's her daddy! She's his little princess.
